Natalie Schellack is a registered pharmacist, Professor and currently the Head of the Department of Pharmacology, University of Pretoria. She holds three degrees, two bachelor degrees (nursing and pharmacy) and a PhD in Pharmacy. Outside the University, she serves on the South African Pharmacy Council (as an elected member of council) and serves as the editor of the South African Pharmacy Journal. Her research interests are centred on the broad area of clinical pharmacy as related to paediatrics, ototoxicity and infectious diseases (aspects related to antimicrobial stewardship). More specifically interested in quantifying antimicrobial utilisation data, pharmacokinetic and dynamic levels of antibiotics in blood levels. More recently her research area has been more focused on finding innovative ways of measuring antimicrobial utilisation using health technology.
