Dr. Lesiba J. Rashokeng

Dr. Lesiba J. Rashokeng is the Director responsible for Certification and Enforcement at the Office of Health Standards Compliance (OHSC), the statutory body mandated to protect and promote the health and safety of users of health services in South Africa.

With more than a decade of senior leadership experience in the public health sector, Dr. Rashokeng has served as a hospital Chief Executive Officer and has extensive hands-on experience in health service delivery, clinical governance, and regulatory compliance. His work spans hospital operations, clinical governance, quality improvement, and the enforcement of national health standards across all categories of health establishments.

In his current role, he leads national processes relating to inspections, certification of compliance, risk-based enforcement, and regulatory interventions aimed at improving quality and safety of care. He is actively involved in shaping regulatory frameworks that support sustainable quality improvement, accountability, and readiness for National Health Insurance (NHI) implementation.

Dr. Rashokeng holds an MBA and is a PhD candidate with a research focus on leadership, organisational behaviour, and regulatory compliance in health systems. He is a regular speaker at healthcare conferences and leadership forums, where he contributes practical insights on quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and system strengthening in the public health sector.

At The Hospital Show, Dr. Rashokeng will share insights from OHSC’s national findings on quality and safety, highlight emerging risks, and reflect on how enforcement is being applied to sustain improvements and protect patients within South Africa’s evolving health system.
